Nick Humphreys biog
Born in Nottingham, England in 1968, working predominantly in the medium of (illustrative) painting under the 'actual size' moniker, Nick has also worked extensively in music, a multi-instrumentalist primarily focused on percussion. He gained a BA(Hons) degree in fine art at Nottingham Trent University in 2007. More recently Nicks commissions have included contemporary portraits of Byron, D H Lawrence and Alan Sillitoe as part of the Nott's Rebel Writers (Nottingham Unesco City of Literature) campaign.
As well as visual artist, Nick is a prolific writer and lyricist, with recent commissions to creatively interpret over 70 wildlife species, for Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, for online materials, as well writing for musicians and interpretive copy for public exhibitions natural history museums. A passionate naturalist and creative, Nick is now the co-founder of INSTAR, curating, producing and exhibiting contemporary art.
